Salvation Army

The Salvation Army Jamaica is the Jamaican branch of the global faith based charity The Salvation Army, operating under the Caribbean Territory.

Since its establishment in Jamaica in 1887, the organization has been committed to “meeting human needs in His name without discrimination,” combining spiritual ministry with robust social welfare services.

The Salvation Army Jamaica delivers a wide range of community support services — feeding centres and meal programs, children’s homes and day-care, residential homes for the elderly, vocational training programs (including for women), rehabilitation centres for substance misuse, accommodation for men and support for the blind and visually impaired.

Their work also spans disaster relief, youth development, community centres, medical clinics and addiction recovery services.
